Meaning Of Life

Organisations have got a higher meaning for existence something which they call their Mission Statement or their Corporate Goal.

When I first tried to comprehend the meaning of Covey's Personal Mission Statement, it all seemed to me to be just GOOD talk and nothing else. However today we had this discussion in our sociology class that what is the real meaning of life. At present our reason for existence is just that we should be good at studies, efficient at doing assignments or lets say be very good at enjoying our lives, etc or is it that we should have a higher meaning and a purpose in life whether we are an individual or an organisation.

I have been contemplating over this and reached the conclusion that almost everyone of us is living a life without a higher meaning or purpose.And I have been thinking that what has been the reason for my existence; How can I contribute to humanity and how can I fulfill my part in this world.Obviously I have to do sthing off the road and something different which can assure me of some accomplishment.

And that does not just relate to individuals; being materialistic lets talk about the reason for existence of an organisation. I have seen that most organisations which have just focused on short term profits have enjoyed their time and later drifted away from limelight; however there are those which have cared less about the profits and focused more on long term relatitionships with customers and these organisations today are profiting and thriving.

The point is that we must all sit back and ponder over our higher objective in life. I am still thinking about it and am still unclear about my Real Reason for existence.
