Now the meaning of the first chunk of the term, "micro" is small. So we can concur from the entire term that the meaning can be "marketing done at a small level." But the example given by the group presenting before the class was of Real Madrid selling items in Spain. I mean, Spain is an entire country so what is micro about the policy employed by Real Madrid..

Usman, you're right. Yes micromarketing, as the name itself implies, is all about promoting your products at a local level. In this kind of marketing a company usually targets the surrounding localities or neighbourhoods and other cities.
Let me give you a very crude example of localised marketing. You must have seen "auriga complex" in liberty. Now the cloth market in auriga could be called as a local market.
Furthermore, Osama has also given a good example.This product of wordcall that he has talked about targets customers of Karachi ONLY.
Now, what you need to understand is that any company that sells its products internationally will NOT be categorized as a local market.
Real Madrid is not at all an appropriate example since the company sells its products worlwide....not only in Spain.

The main problem i had was with the example Usama and that was it. All you could have said was that the example was wrong, like Fizza and i would have understood. But thank you all the same for making me understand it.
Now thats the chunk of it Fizza. I was just trying to understand the concept of putting in Real Madrid and as it is not part of the concept everything falls into place.
